A BRIEF GUIDE TO THERAPEUTIC SERVICES PROVIDED BY

WHO ARE WE ?
Mustard Seed Associates CIC was formed in September 2008 by Maureen Taylor and Caroline Riley (Company Directors). We are an independent community focused organisation which provide therapeutic services, parents groups, Brokerage, Mediation, Independent Social Work, Child & Family counselling, training, advice and consultation. We aim to work therapeutically with children , families & organisations using primarily a Systemic Framework which incorporates ideas from a range of therapeutic modalities. We may obtain grant funding for some of our services and may be commissioned by statutory services for others.
We work with all children, young people, Older Adults and families from a variety of backgrounds and have developed an expertise and cultural competence in addressing the needs of BME ( Black & Minority Ethnic ) children & families.
We currently work in and around the Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire areas and try to work close to where families live / in their own homes.
We sometimes obtain funding from the Local Authority and / or other organisations to undertake work but individuals and families can approach us themselves and pay for our services independently.
Team Members / Associates are professionally qualified and experienced in working with children & families and some have additional qualifications in at least one therapeutic modality. Team members may come from a range of backgrounds which include: Social Work, Family Therapy, Health visiting, Psychology, Medicine, Youth & Community Work and Teaching. For this reason Specialist Workers can be identified in accordance with the work requested.

Sometimes we work with situations which seem almost impossible to resolve, but a small amount of hope can be nurtured in the right way and great changes to situations and relationships can occur.

We have the ability to be flexible in our approach and our services are confidential and adhere to the relevant UKCP / BACP codes of ethics. We also have the ability to offer a Christian perspective to the Therapeutic process.
We can offer individual or family counselling, Play therapy, Art therapy, Group Work, Couple relationship counselling, Consultation to professionals, therapeutic assessments, therapeutic mentoring, Training on all aspects of Mental Health and Independent Assessment services. We aim to work in partnership with everyone involved and promote a safe, supporting environment for all concerned.
All our Team Members are CRB checked and confidentiality is an important aspect of our work. Where information needs to be shared with other agencies for safeguarding purposes you will always be informed of this.
COST
We have a sliding scale of fees according to an individual’s ability to pay. If you are unable to afford sessions we can negotiate a small donation to the work of the organisation from £10. Please contact us for an example of our fee scales.
